I just did the last part of Competency Task 3, which is to talk about the use of the widgets for Blogger, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. I either used blog widget to post some more Youtube videos to my blog. One is an episode of Batman from the 60's (Adam West played Batman and Burt Ward played Robin), with a villain called The Bookworm played by the late actor Roddy McDowall. Thought everyone would like it for a bit of entertainment due to the name of the villain. The Bookworm would be a pain in the neck for any library, as he would be wanting to steal books a lot. But how would he go about electronic books? Would've been an awesome plot for another Batman episode if electronic books were around in when the Batman series was made in the 60's. With one of the other Youtube videos I posted I could not embed it to my blog and could only post it to my blog with the blogger widget. This due to the settings the person who posted the Youtube video to Youtube changing the settings so that no one can can embed their Youtube video to a website.
Margie had a look at my Competency Tasks for both Competency Task 1 and Competency Task 2 as well as Competency Task 3 on my blog and said I had finished the class. Although there is a class next week for those who still have to finish off the Competency Tasks. I have thoroughly enjoyed this class and would suggest people take on Social Media Tools as it is beneficial with the things that I have learnt in this class. I did ask Margie if I was to decide to do the Web Design class next year would it be worth me keeping my blog, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter accounts for that class? As Khanh who I work with at Footscray Park Campus Library of Victoria University and who also does the Web Design Class off campus has had to use these Social Medial tools for that subject as well for her website. Margie did say yes for the answer to that question. So I am definitely thinking about doing Web Design class next year.

Facebook and Twitter Widgets For Competency Task 3!
With the useage of the Facebook and Twitter widgets for Competency Task 3. I've noticed from class last week we have to use the standard widgets for both Facebook and Twitter and preferably not alter them and use the standard ones as prescribed by both Facebook and Twitter. I would assume this would also apply to both Pinterests and Blogger as well? You would have to keep up with any changes that have been made to the widgets at all time if you were going to use them.

Blog For Wednesday Class 13/11/2013!
In todays class we talked more about Competency Task 3. Margie also showed us by going to the website AddThis to add the widgets for Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, Pinterest to our blogs. We could chose different styles from the website which was interesting. We also talked more about adding a Youtube video to our blogs as well. I mentioned to Margie about having trouble using the blogger widget to add a Youtube video to my blog since last week, so I had to embed the rest of the Youtube videos I wanted to add to my blog instead. I mentioned this problem to Margie. I showed her what was happening and she mentioned she was having the same problem as well. So it was fine to embed any other Youtube Videos I wish to add to my blog.

Blog For Wednesday Class 6/11/2013!
In todays class Margie first went through to make sure that everyone was familiar and fine with Competency Task 1 and Competency Task 2. Plus Margie added more blogs to reading her list from class members as well. Plus Competency Task 3 was touched on more for what is required. We have to post Youtube Videos either using the Blogger widget or embedding the video into our blogs, which we learned about last term. Plus we are to look at the terms of use for using the widgets for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Blogger in particular.
Also Margie showed me how to add my reading list gadget to my blog, so people can view my reading list for other blogs that I'm following.
